Student Magazine Research To understand what a good student magazine looks like and how they're presented research was carried out to gain some reference photos.  Source 1 This "Back To School" is effective as the picture in the back is clearly visible and sets the theme of school. The colour themes used are effective as all colours go together and stand out. Another image is featured at the bottom so the reader has an idea on what is inside. This cover is overall good as there are not too many things on the front but enough so that the reader has an idea what the article is about. Preliminary Task- Initial Ideas  Our preliminary task is to create a front page of a school or college magazine, using an image of a  student in a medium close up.  Firstly some ideas that I have for the magazine are the following: The main theme will be back to school. It would be aimed at people who are 16+ The front page would focus on the main subject to add importance, this will be achieved by defocusing the background. I would aim to make the text big and bold to catch the eye of the reader.  Another aim would also be to make the front cover simple and not involving to many ideas. This way I can insure that the magazine is easy to follow and not cluttered.
