How did you attract/engage your audience?
Engaging the Audience When it came to interesting the audience, I started off by looking at other magazines to see what features they had which attracted teenagers. From this I realised teenagers were drawn to colour schemes as well as large bold headers. Therefore I decided to make sure my magazine had an interesting colour scheme as well as having an effect that would catch the readers eye. When making my contents page my aim was to feature sub title's that looked entertaining. Therefore I chose to feature thing's such as "what happened to Royal Blood?". A subtitle like this would engage the reader and make them want to read on due to the bold statement making them aware of informatiion. I also chose to feature a simple question and answer interview on my contents page as this would interest teenagers more, due to the article being split up. This way they are more likely to read on as it is not a massive amount of text.
Initial Ideas For A Student Magazine
Preliminary Task- Initial Ideas Our preliminary task is to create a front page of a school or college magazine, using an image of a student in a medium close up. Firstly some ideas that I have for the magazine are the following: The main theme will be back to school. It would be aimed at people who are 16+ The front page would focus on the main subject to add importance, this will be achieved by defocusing the background. I would aim to make the text big and bold to catch the eye of the reader. Another aim would also be to make the front cover simple and not involving to many ideas. This way I can insure that the magazine is easy to follow and not cluttered.
