Front Cover Analysis
Firstly this front cover features a medium shot as the main background. The main subject has a prop which is a guitar, this is situated at the bottom half of the picture. By using one clear picture it lets the reader know what the main topic is without being confused with other items/pictures. The main title is featured at the top in big writing so it stands out and is easily seen by the reader. A logo in the top left hand side and a circle a little lower on the opposite side can both be seen in red. These both stand out as they're a different colour. Both are affective at grabbing the attention of the reader and provide the front cover with extra information and detail. In the centre of the page the name "Ed Sheeran" is printed in a similar colour. Once again the text is big and colourful therefore it stands out. By using the colours red and white the colour scheme is kept simple yet effective. Located at the sides further information about the article is provided in a simple but structured form. This is effective as it gives the reader more information that is clear and easy to read as it is not caught up in the rest of the picture.
The next front cover features a mid shot from the waist upwards. The main subject also features a prop which is a violin. The main title is featured in big red writing at the top of the page making it clear and easy to read. By having a plain white background the text around the edge stands out. However there are different fonts used around the edge which I think make it slightly confusing and harder to read. This front cover doesn't look as interesting as the first one due to the lack of information and bright big text. Additionally this magazine features two smaller images one on the left hand side and one on the right hand side. These provide extra information on what is inside. But do add a clutter feeling to the front cover. The colours used (red,white, black and yellow) fit together well. However I think by adding more red it could make the cover stand out more. The plain white background keeps the simple theme of the magazine and makes the main subject stand out. The genre of this magazine classical, this is shown through the simple colours and layouts. Unlike other magazines the chunks of information suggest that it is aimed at older people. In my magazine i may choose to use the idea of having a bar code on my front cover, to add detail.

By using big and bold text, attention is brought to the word "Paramore" this gives a clear understanding on the main topic.

By using different shapes e.g circles and squares the magazine has important information spread out yet still visible to the reader. The colour scheme is bright and colourful this grabs the readers attention and drags them in. Each colour fits together and are all spread out so that none of the colours clash with each other. Different fonts have been used to make different points clear and readable. Overall the style is very fun and funky this is because the magazine is targeted at a younger age group. Therefore the magazine front cover is successful as it is a appealing to teenage girls specifically. The genre of this magazine is pop, this is shown through the bright colours and the easy to read text. In my magazine i may choose to use a similar colour scheme as it stands out and is eye-catching.
