Music Magazine Double Page Spread Analysis

Double Page Spread

This double page spread features a mid shot of one main subject. The main title is in big bold writing which is easily seen and stands out. By using different fonts the page looks put together and unique. Parts of important text have been made bigger and/or changed colour. Highlighting certain quotes with colour or boxes makes the reader pay close attention to these details. The theme of this double page is very simple as there are not loads of images making it look busy, instead the colour scheme is simple and put together. By using a plain background the picture and text stand out more. This magazine genre is pop as it features colours that would be aimed at a younger group of people and it also features a pop artist. In my magazine i may use the idea of different text sizing.

This double page spread features a long shot image in the middle, as well as a collage of long shot images as a background header. There is no big main title, However a subtitle can be seen at the side in a slightly bigger font than the rest. Important words have been coloured blue to make them stand out to the reader. The whole of the article is written in small text and unlike the previous double pages does not have any text highlighted. Overall the colour scheme is simple black and white with the odd hints of colour to make things stand out. For example the clothing worn is bright which draws attention to the photo. On one side a quite from the text can be seen in a bigger black font, this suggest its important and intended to be noticed by the reader. In my magazine i may choose to use the idea of a picture collage as it looks unique.

This double page spread features a mid shot on the side of the page. The title is in big, thick and bright writing which makes it stand out. By using two different fonts it makes the writing stand out even more. Something unique is that the first letter of the article is big and coloured, this draws the reader in and also makes the magazine looks unique. By using the same colour as part of the title it ties the whole piece together making it look professional. Overall the colour scheme is simple with the off pop of colour. I think that the yellow and blue colours are effective at drawing the reader in. In my magazine i may choose to use the idea of having a black and white photo, as i like the way it looks with the colourful text.
